House session prorogued

Kathmandu: President Bidhya Devi Bhandari has prorogued the session of the House of Representatives. At the end of the meeting on Monday, Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota read out a letter from the President’s Office mentioning of ending the House session.

A meeting of Council of Ministers held on earlier today had decided to recommend to President Bhandari to prorogue the session from Monday midnight.

President summons and ends House session on recommendation of government as per the Constitutional provision.

The first meeting of the reinstated House of Representatives took place on July 18 in which Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba secured the vote of confidence.
