Covid-19: 1,801 new cases and 24 fatalities in the last 24 hours

Kathmandu: A total of 1,801 new cases of Covid-19 were recorded in the country in the last 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

The new cases were confirmed from 8,704 PCR tests and 2,622 antigen tests conducted in various laboratories across the country during the same period. This takes the Covid-19 caseload to 748,981 in PCR and 80,462 in antigen till date.

Similarly, 1,924 people got full recovery from the infection in a day taking the Covid-19 recovery to 700,097 as of now, the Ministry said in its routine update. The recovery rate is at 93.5 percent.

Currently, there are a total of 38,351 active cases across the country.

Likewise, 24 people succumbed to the infection in the past 24 hours. With this, the number of people dying from coronavirus infection reached 10,533.

Currently, a total of 679 infected ones who are in critical condition have been receiving treatment at ICU facilities while 176 in ventilator support. The rest of the infected are being treated in home isolation and institutional isolation.

There are currently 7,182 active cases in Kathmandu, 1,411 in Bhaktapur and 2,240 in Lalitpur, the Ministry said.

Likewise, 12,344 people were vaccinated today, taking the total number of fully vaccinated people in the country to 3,857,598 where as 4,943,732 have received their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
