2,195 recover in the last 24 hours; 1,268 new cases and nine fatalities registered

Kathmandu: The country has recorded 1,268 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.

This was revealed in 9,875 samples including 6,753 through RT-PCR and 3,122 antigen tests carried out in various laboratories across the country, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

This takes the caseload of Covid-19 infection in the country to 768,295 confirmed through RT-PCR and 84,937 through antigen tests.

Likewise, 2,195 people recovered during the same period, taking the total number of recoveries to 725,651.

Meanwhile, nine people lost their lives in the past 24 hours, taking the Covid-19 death toll to 10,818.

The number of active cases in the country is 31,826 with 29,658 of them in home isolation, 2,168 in institutional isolation. Of the infected, 554 are undergoing treatment in ICU while 172 are with ventilator support.

Kathmandu Valley recorded 386 new cases with 289 in Kathmandu, 53 in Lalitpur and 44 in Bhaktapur.
