Kathmandu: Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand on Saturday morning inspected the flood-affected areas of Helambu and Melamchi in Sindhupalchowk. Floods and landslides triggered by heavy rains on June 15 and 30 had caused extensive damage in the two locations.
A team led by Home Minister Khand inspected the Melamchi Bazaar of Melamchi Municipality and the surrounding areas and the Ganesh Bazaar area of Ward No. 2 of Helambu Rural Municipality.
On the occasion, the Home Minister directed the authorities concerned to reconstruct the damaged roads, bridges, houses, offices and other structures and make proper management for the flood and landslide survivors. The team also inquired about the damage caused by floods and landslides in the area.
The visiting team made both on-site and aerial observations of the flood-affected area.
