Covid-19 update: 1,486 new cases; 1,260 recoveries in last 24 hours

Kathmandu: The country has recorded 1,486 new cases of Covid-19 in the past 24 hours.

This was confirmed in 16,539 samples including 12,532 through RT-PCR and 4,007 antigen tests carried out in various laboratories across the country during the same period, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

This takes the Covid-19 caseload in the country to 778,312, said the Ministry.

Likewise,1,260 people recovered during the same period, taking the total number of recoveries to 740,717. The recovery rate stands at 95.3 percent.

Meanwhile, 16 people lost their lives in the past 24 hours, taking the Covid-19 death toll to 10,965. The fatality rate is 1.5 percent.

The number of active cases in the country is 26,630 with 25,958 of them in home isolation, and 1,672 in institutional isolation. Of the infected, 475 are undergoing treatment in ICU while 134 are with ventilator support. Similarly, 262 are in quarantine.
