Covid-19: Nepal witnesses 1, 066 new cases and 16 deaths

Kathmandu: A total of 1,066 new cases of Covid-19 were recorded in the last 24 hours in the country. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, the new cases were identified from 8,540 RT-PCR and 2,818 antigen tests.

With the new cases, the Covid-19 tally has reached 783,910 (in PCR tests) and 88,890 (in antigen tests) in the country as of Saturday.

Similarly, the Ministry confirmed that 1,234 patients have recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours. With this, the total number of recovered patients has reached 748,800 so far. The recovery rate stands at 95.4 percent.

According to the Ministry, a total of 16 Covid-19 patients died in the last 24 hours across the country. The Ministry stated that the total number of deaths from coronavirus infection has reached 11,028.

The Ministry has further shared that there are 25,082 active cases of coronavirus across the country. Out of them, 23,636 are in home isolation and 1,446 undergoing treatment at institutional isolation. A total of 389 are receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit while 121 Covid-19 patients are under ventilator support, the Health Ministry said, adding 246 are currently quarantined.
