Kathmandu: The main opposition CPN-UML obstructed the meeting of the House of Representatives on Thursday as well.

The UML lawmakers left their seats shortly after the start of the meeting and picketed the bell. Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota continued the meeting notwithstanding the obstruction and allowed Minister for Law Gyanendra Bahadur Karki to table an annual report of the Office of Auditor General.

The meeting was postponed until 1 pm on Tuesday after UML lawmakers continued the obstruction.

Earlier today, an all-party meeting summoned by Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba had decided to call on the main opposition to lift House obstruction. The meeting was, however, not attended by the UML leaders.

It may be noted that the main opposition party, UML, has been obstructing the parliamentary meeting since the beginning of the current House session demanding that 14 lawmakers it took action should be dismissed.
