In pics: Stage set for UML’s Statute General Convention

Kathmandu: The first Statute General Convention of CPN-UML is going to take place from Friday at is Godawari Sunrise Conference Center in Lalitpur. Approximately 6,000 representatives are expected to take part in the three-day convention.

UML Chair and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is scheduled to inaugurate the general convention, said the statute general convention main management committee at a press conference here Thursday.

Party Chair Oli and other party leaders are slated to address the inaugural session. Following this, in the closed session, Chair Oli, on behalf of the central committee, will table a political proposal, General Secretary Ishwor Pokharel the organizational proposal and Deputy General Secretary and chief of the party organization department Bishnu Prasad Poudel the statute amendment proposal.

On the second day, group discussions will take place and suggestions from group leaders presented.

On the third day, suggestions from group discussions and issues raised will be made clear and their summaries will take place.
