Kathmandu: Justices boycotting benches demanding the resignation of Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana have decided to resume hearing after eight days.

A meeting of the agitating Justices held on Monday decided to hear habeas corpus cases only.

As per the decision, we are now returning to the bench to hear habeas corpus cases, an agitating Justice told Nepal Live Today.

Justices at the apex court have been boycotting hearings since Sunday tea break seeking the Chief Justice’s resignation.

It should be noted that the Nepal Bar Association has given an ultimatum till Wednesday for Chief Justice Rana to resign. A meeting of the umbrella organization of Nepali lawyers held on Friday had decided to stage a nationwide protest if the Chief Justice fails to resign with the deadline.
