Covid-19 active cases drop to 5,225; recovery rate improves to 98 percent

Kathmandu: The country has witnessed a total of 220 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Population stated on Monday.

A total of 218 were diagnosed with the virus in PCR tests while two were confirmed positive in tests undertaken through the antigen method. Samples of 2,725 people were tested through the PCR method while 1,416 samples were tested adopting the antigen method.

Likewise, altogether 263 Covid-19 patients got full recovery during the period. The Ministry said that the recovery rate in Nepal is 98 percent.

According to the Ministry of Health, one person succumbed to the pandemic in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 11,574.

Nepal currently has 5,225 active cases.
