House meeting postponed until Wednesday

Kathmandu: The meeting of the House of Representatives has been postponed until Wednesday.

The meeting was postponed after a brief sitting following obstruction from lawmakers of CPN-UML, the main opposition party. UML has been obstructing both lower and upper houses demanding that 14 lawmakers it took action should be dismissed.

Despite obstruction from UML’s lawmakers, Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota moved ahead with the House’s proceedings and allowed Minister for Law Dilendra Prasad Badu to table a proposal for endorsing ordinances to amend some laws and allowed lawmaker Prem Suwal to table his proposal.

The next meeting will be held at 1 pm tomorrow.
