Nepal registers 290 new Covid-19 cases, positivity rate at 1.6 percent

Kathmandu: A total of 290 new cases of Covid-19 were recorded in the last 24 hours in the country. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, the new cases were identified from 12,473 RT-PCR and 4,616 antigen tests.

With the new cases, the Covid-19 tally has reached 826,206 (in PCR tests) and 96,021 (in antigen tests) in the country as of Tuesday. The positivity rate stood at 1.6 percent.

Similarly, the Ministry confirmed that 232 patients have recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours. With this, the total number of recovered patients has reached 809,387 so far. The recovery rate stands at 98 percent.

According to the Ministry, three Covid-19 patients died in the last 24 hours across the country. The Ministry stated that the total number of deaths from coronavirus infection has reached 11,577.

The Ministry has further shared that there are 5,242 active cases of coronavirus across the country.
