Nepal registers 260 new Covid-19 cases, positivity rate at 2.1 percent

Kathmandu: A total of 260 new cases of Covid-19 were recorded in the last 24 hours in the country. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, the new cases were identified from 8,060 RT-PCR and 3,838 antigen tests.

With the new cases, the Covid-19 tally has reached 826,901 (in PCR tests) and 96,115 (in antigen tests) in the country as of Friday. The positivity rate stood at 2.1 percent.

Similarly, the Ministry confirmed that 349 patients have recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours. With this, the total number of recovered patients has reached 810,271 so far. The recovery rate stands at 98 percent.

According to the Ministry, one Covid-19 patient died in the last 24 hours across the country. The Ministry stated that the total number of deaths from coronavirus infection has reached 11,582.

The Ministry has further shared that there are 5,048 active cases of coronavirus across the country.
