Kathmandu: The ongoing eighth General Convention of the CPN (Maoist Center) has been extended until Saturday despite the party passing its Chairman’s political document.

In order to pass the party’s statute draft, the closed-door session has been summoned for Saturday. The issue of leadership selection will begin only after approval of the statute draft, it is said.

As proposed, the Maoist Center would select 15-office bearers and 299 central committee members.

Chairman of the Maoist Centre’s Election Commission Bishnu Pukar Shrestha said that the election process of the party leadership will advance only after the approval of the statute draft.
