Kathmandu: The government of Nepal has decided to allow Nepali and foreigner travelers’ entry into Nepal after they meet certain conditions.
In a letter sent to the subordinate agencies regarding the implementation of the Cabinet decisions of December 24, the Ministry of Home Affairs said that those fully-vaccinated travelers- at least before 14 days of the arrival- would be allowed.
The asymptotic travelers whose 72-hours PCR tests come negative have to be quarantined for 10 days after they enter Nepal. These rules are for Nepali citizens and diplomatic officials as well as foreigners obtaining residential visas.
Similarly, the Nepalis with partial vaccination or arriving Nepal in less than 14 days of vaccinations, will have to undergo antigen tests at the entry points. Those testing positive in the antigen test will be sent for quarantine, the letter said.
During the test, if Nepalis are tested negative, they will be allowed entry provided they stay in a quarantine facility at their houses for 10 days. The same rule applies to foreign nationals, carrying diplomatic passports or residential visas.
If they are tested positive for antigen test, they will be sent for home isolation or institutional isolation in the responsibility of the respective diplomatic missions. Those tested negative in the antigen test will be told to be quarantined for 10 days in a hotel or home-quarantine.
