CPN (Maoist Center) picks candidates for National Assembly polls

Kathmandu: The CPN (Maoist Center) has finalized the names of candidates for the National Assembly elections scheduled to be held on January 26. Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ picked the names following a discussion with the top leaders.

The party has decided to field Urmila Aryal in Province 2, Suresh Ale Magar and Bharat Sunar in Gandaki Province.

Likewise, Nar Bahadur Bista will contest the polls from Karnali and Jagat Parki from Sudurpaschim Province, according to Personal Secretary to Prachanda Ramesh Malla.

A Central Committee meeting of the party held on Monday has entrusted the responsibility to Chairman Prachanda to pick candidates for the polls.

The coalition parties in the incumbent government on Monday reached an agreement to allocate seats for the elections. Nomination filing for the elections is slated for today.
