Covid-19: Nepal records 8,017 new cases and 15 deaths in the last 24 hours

Kathmandu: The Ministry of Health and Population on Thursday said it recorded a total of 8,017 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. With the new cases, active Covid-19 cases have crossed the 90,000-mark. Nepal currently has 90,576 active cases.

A total of 5,816 people were diagnosed with the virus in PCR tests while 2,201 were confirmed positive in the test undertaken through the antigen method.

A total of 21,808 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry. The Ministry said 15,736 samples were tested through the PCR method while 6,072 samples were through the antigen method.

Likewise, altogether 5,292 Covid-19 patients got full recovery during the period. The Ministry said that the recovery rate in Nepal is 89.1 percent.

According to the Ministry, 15 people succumbed to the pandemic in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 11,687.
