Kathmandu: A clash took place between protesters demonstrating against the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) and police in front of Nepal’s Parliament building in Kathmandu on Wednesday.

Leaders and cadres of various political parties staged a protest today assuming that the government would submit the MCC before the Parliament for approval.

Police used water cannons to stop protesters trying to enter the Parliament’s building.

The situation remained tense in the Baneshwor area after clashes broke out between police and protesters. Transportation service on Maitighar-Tinkune road has also been affected due to the protest.
