Identity of dead body found in bag in Dharan established

Kathmandu: Police have identified the dead body found in a bag in the forest area at Dharan Sub-metropolitan City-4 along the Dharan-Dhankuta road section six days ago.

The deceased has been identified as Deepak Sigdel of Damak Municipality-5 in Jhapa, said Sanjaya Singh Thapa, Police Inspector at the District Police Office, Sunsari.

Sigdel’s dead body was found in two bags in the Aapgancchi forest area and the head, hand and legs were crammed separately and thrown away in those two bags, police said.

Sigdel had made his passport from Damak-5, said Damak Municipality-5 chairperson Indra Gurung and police investigation unveiled that he had obtained a citizenship identity card from Chulachuli in Ilam district.

Sigdel could have been murdered due to family feud. He is learned to have visited his brother’s house, according to a police investigation.

Police inspector Thapa pledged to make public the culprit involved in the murder of Sigdel very soon.

Police had circulated the sketch of the dead bodies for identification of the person. The Federal Police Unit and Area Police office have been carrying out an investigation into the case.
