Kathmandu: Nepal has formed a talks team to hold dialogue with the United Kingdom regarding the demands of former Gurkha soldiers.

A recent Cabinet meeting decided to form a delegation led by Nepali Ambassador to the UK Gyan Chandra Acharya, said Government Spokesperson and Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki.

Gurkha veterans have been protesting for long putting forth different demands including an equal pension on a par with their British counterparts.

Ex-Gurkhas, in August, had staged a relay hunger strike in the United Kingdom to put pressure to address their demands. They had ended the 13-day hunger strike on August 20 after the British government agreed to discuss their long-standing grievances over pension rights.
