Kathmandu: Youths protested at Maitighar Mandala of Kathmandu on Saturday morning demanding justice for a rape victim.
Carrying placards with different slogans, the protestors demanded to punish perpetrators, remove the statute of limitations for rape and sexual violence and hear rape and sexual violence cases on a fast track among others.
They gathered to press the government not to delay the delivery of justice for rape victims by displaying placards with slogans such as “punish the rapist’, “set up a separate court for hearing rape and sexual offenses”, and “revoke statute of limitations for rape and sexual violence cases.”

Youths in Kathmandu have taken to the street demanding justice for a victim who was allegedly raped some eight years ago.
A case of alleged sexual abuse of a woman has triggered a rage against rape in Nepal. On Wednesday evening, several videos from a young woman appeared on TikTok where she shared her story of how she was assaulted and abused by an unnamed person who was the organizer of a beauty pageant in which she had participated around 2014.
The videos, which have gone viral on social media, have exposed how the victims of sexual abuse are forced to stay silent for years fearing reprisal and lack of faith in the judicial system.
