Kathmandu: CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli on Monday said that the country is heading on a path of an economic crisis similar to Sri Lanka due to the incompetence of the incumbent government.

Speaking at an interaction with journalists, Oli said that Nepal’s economy could face a crisis worse than Sri Lanka arguing that the government was involved series of financial irregularities including budget manipulation and purchase of weapons despite dwindling foreign exchange reserves.

“These episodes show that Nepal is heading on the same path as Sri Lanka. The situation can get worse if such activities to further damage the economy continues,” he said.
