COVID-19 cases on the rise in Kavre

The daily rate of COVID-19 infection is found to be increasing every day in the district. In the last 24 hours, 103 people have been tested of which 20 have been confirmed positive for the virus, according to the District Health Office, Kavre.

Five people were found positive in the test conducted on 18 people the previous day. Out of 13 local levels in the district, infection has been confirmed in seven local levels. Out of this, the highest number of infections has been reported in Dhulikhel Municipality with 26 new infections including 13 women.

In the last 24 hours, eight infected people have recovered. Head of the office Dr Purushottam Sedai shared that each infected person is undergoing treatment in isolation in Panchkhaal municipality and Bethanchok rural municipality. Considering the increasing rate of infection, the scope of testing will be expanded.

Similarly, there are four active cases of COVID-19 in Namobuddha, four in Banepa municipality and one in Mahabharat Rural Municipality. Currently, there are 42 active cases of COVID-19 in the district. 

In a period of about two years and five months, 17,629 COVID-19 cases have been reported in the district. Among them, 195 have succumbed to the virus.
