638 new Covid-19 cases and two deaths recorded in last 24 hours

Kathmandu: A total of 638 new cases of Covid-19 were recorded in the last 24 hours in the country.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, the new cases were identified from 2,215 RT-PCR and 2,840 antigen tests. Nepal had recorded 568 fresh coronavirus cases on Monday.

With the new cases, the Covid-19 tally has reached 984,475 (in PCR tests) and 141,855 (in antigen tests) in the country. The positivity rate stood at 12.62 percent.

Similarly, the Ministry confirmed that 218 patients have recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours. With this, the total number of recovered patients has reached 968,802 so far. The recovery rate stands at 98.4 percent.

According to the Ministry, two Covid-19 patients died in the last 24 hours across the country. The Ministry stated that the total number of deaths from coronavirus infection has reached 11,959.

The Ministry has further shared that there are 3,714 active cases of coronavirus across the country.
