Nepal should follow digitization and digital governance, says Azerbaijan diplomat

Kathmandu: The Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to India Dr Ashraf Shikhaliyev has said that like Azerbaijan, Nepal can also be developed through digitalization and digital governance. He was sharing his experience while delivering his remarks in the session entitled “Digital Infrastructure and Technology Emigration: Leapfrogging Opportunities” during the Nepal Infrastructure Summit 2022 organized by the Confederation of Nepali Industries in the capital on Thursday.

He further shared that digitization and digital Governance have eased the livelihood of the people as well as changed the overall economy of Azerbaijan, making the country one of the most attractive destinations.

With digitization, visas can be obtained within an hour of online application which would otherwise take 30 days, driving license can also be replaced within five minutes, and firm registration work is completed within two days, he said.

He suggested that by adopting digitization and digital governance Nepal can become a tech-friendly and fast-growing economy.
