Bus crash in Nawalparasi East kills five pilgrims travelling to Manakamana

The bus bound to Manakamana, Gorkha from Palpa lost its control and veered 100 meters off the motorway.

Kathmandu: At least five persons died when a bus bound for Gorkha district lost its control and veered off a motorway at Bunglintar-2 in Nawalparasi East district on Sunday morning. The bus plunged some 100 meters off the motorway. 

The bus, with registration number Na 6 Kha, was taking pilgrims from Palpa to the Manakamana Temple in Gorkha.

The deceased have been identified as Tara BK, 41, Binaya BK, 17, Dhani BK, 62, and Devi Gaha, 58, from Rambha Devi Rural Municipality -1, and Jul Maya Majhi, 25, from Galyan Rural Municipality-9.

The bus, according to police, was carrying 29 pilgrims.

All the injured are recieving treatment in different hospitals in Nawalpur and Chitwan, say police.
