Nawalpur: On Thursday evening, a Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) electrician died on-duty after being electrocuted during the maintenance of a power grid located in Gaindakot Municipality of Nawalpur district.
According to the Nawalpur District Police, the incident took place at around 6:30 pm, and the deceased was a male employee of NEA who was 33 years old and died while repairing the transmission line of an electric pole by climbing on it.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Jaisi Shah of Nawalpur District Police said that the man died while transferring the transmission line of an old electric pole to the new pole at Kalika Chowk in Ward 5 of Gaindakot Municipality of Nawalpur.
“The electrician died on the spot after being electrocuted on the pole,” said Deputy Superintendent of Police Shah.
The dead body was brought to the ground from the pole and has been sent for autopsy, Shah added.
