Kathmandu: On Monday, Rabi Lamichhane reached the High Court against the order of the Rupandehi District Court.
Lamichhane, the president of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and former home minister, approached the High Court against the Rupandehi District Court’s order to collect a bail amount of Rs 10 million in a cooperative fraud case.
On January 26, the Rupandehi District Court had ordered Lamichhane to submit a bail of Rs 10 million in a case related to the misappropriation of savings of Supreme Cooperative located in Butwal.
Lamichhane was awaiting trial on the case after submitting the bail requested by the court on the same day.
According to the RSP secretariat, he filed a petition at the Butwal bench of the Tulsipur High Court today, seeking the cancellation of the district’s order.
Dissatisfied with the bail demand under Section 68 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, Lamichhane has filed a petition with the High Court under Section 73, seeking to quash the bail order and have the case heard on a regular date under Section 69.
