Kathmandu: The government has decided to recommend before President Bidya Devi Bhandari to prorogue the winter session of Parliament.

Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali told Nepali Live Today that a meeting of Council of Ministers held on Monday morning at Baluwatar decided to end the House session effective from today.

The moves come at a time when there were talks about a change in the government.

Likewise, the meeting also decided to close schools in urban areas considering the surging coronavirus cases.

President summons and ends House sessions on recommendation of Cabinet as per the Constitutional provision.
