Nepal continues winning streak, beats Malaysia by nine wickets

Kathmandu: Nepal continued its winning streak in Tri-Nation T20I Series defeating Malaysia by nine wickets on Monday.

Chasing 110 runs target set by Malaysia, Nepal scored 113 runs in 12.1 overs losing one wicket at Tribhuvan University cricket ground in Kirtipur.

Kushal Bhurtel top-scored at 61 runs facing 41 balls hitting five sixes and three fours. Aasif Sheikh made 42 runs.

Put to bat first after losing the toss, Malaysia made 109 runs on the board losing all wickets in 16.5 overs.

Syed Aziz top-scored for Malaysia at 27 runs as Sharvin Muniandy and Shafiq Sharif contributed 20 and 15 runs respectively.

Nepal’s Karan KC took three wickets, while Sandeep Lamichhane grabbed two wickets in his kitty.

Kushal Bhurtel and Aasif Sheikh had scored a half-century on their debut as Nepal had thrashed the Netherlands by nine wickets in the first match of the Tri-Nation T20I Series in Kathmandu on Saturday.
