Kathmandu: President Bidhya Devi Bhandari prorogued the winter session of Parliament on recommendation by the government on Monday.
President Bhandari ended the House session effective from 1 pm today as per Article 93 (2) of the Constitution on the recommendation of Council of Ministers, reads a letter sent to Parliament Secretariat by the Office of President.
A Cabinet meeting held earlier today had decided to recommend before President Bhandari to end the House session at a time when there were talks about a change in the government.
President summons and ends House sessions on recommendation of Cabinet as per the Constitutional provision.
