Khadka loses National Assembly membership

Kathmandu: National Assembly member Chandra Bahadur Khadka has lost his membership of the upper house.

Khadka lost his position after CPN (Maoist Center) submitted a letter to Parliament Secretariat mentioning of taking action against him for defecting to UML.

Issuing a statement on Wednesday, Secretary of National Assembly, Rajendra Phunyal, said that Khadka has lost his membership.

Khadka was elected from Lumbini province in the 2074 National Assembly election.

Earlier, Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa was relieved of his post as a member of the National Assembly.

He was nominated to the upper house by the CPN (Maoist Center) representing the Bagmati Province.

He was relieved from the post after the leader of the party in the NA Dinanath Sharma wrote to the NA Chairperson informing him of his expulsion from the party as per the Political Party Act-2073 BS.
