Kathmandu: Gandaki Province Assembly member Rajeev Gurung alias Deepak Manange has taken an oath of office and secrecy as Minister for Sports.
Province Chief Amik Sherchan administered the oath to the newly-appointed minister.
Chief Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung split Social Development Ministry that was looked at by Nardevi Pun and appointed Manange as Sports Minister.
Manange, who was elected as an independent candidate, had entered the then Nepal Communist Party (NCP).
He, however, didn’t join any party after Supreme Court didn’t acknowledge the merger of CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Center).
