Nepal records 4,928 Covid-19 cases; 32 percent infections in Valley alone

Kathmandu: Health authorities in Nepal recorded 4,928 new coronavirus cases and 35 fatalities in the last 24 hours.

Registering a steady increase, the active cases have risen to 34,117 as of Thursday afternoon while the death toll has climbed to 3,246, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

There are 59 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

Likewise, 888 people recovered in the last 24 hours, taking total recoveries to 280,167.

Valley turns in Covid hotspot

Kathmandu Valley has turned into a Covid-19 hotspot of late. Out of the total cases in the last 24 hours, Kathmandu Valley registered 1,561 fresh cases.

April 25
On April 25, Nepal had recorded 3,122 new cases of coronavirus infection as Valley had registered 1,498 fresh cases in the past 24 hours.

April 26
A total of 3,556 new coronavirus cases were recorded in the last 24 hours. Kathmandu had Valley witnesses 1,912 fresh cases.

April 27
On April 27, Nepal had recorded 4,524 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours. The Valley had seen 1,966 fresh cases.

April 28
A total of 4,897 new coronavirus cases were registered across Nepal as Kathmandu Valley saw 2,047 fresh COVID-19 cases.

April 29
On April 29, Nepal registered 4,928 new cases. Kathmandu Valley recorded 1,561 cases.
