KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress (NC) has criticized the government saying that it was helpless and shameful for the government to say that there are no beds in hospitals to treat Covid-19 patients.

Issuing a statement on Saturday, NC Spokesperson Bishwa Prakash Sharma demanded the government find a solution at war footing.

Stating that the country’s health system can’t handle further Covid-19 cases, the government on Friday had announced that it is no longer possible to provide beds in hospitals.

“Given the sensitivity of the situation, it is natural and necessary for the state to appeal to the citizens to be serious. But while appealing to the crisis, it is the duty of a responsible government to impart confidence, not despair,” reads the statement.
