Nepal records 7,448 cases in the highest single-day spike; active cases cross 54,000-mark

Kathmandu: Nepal has yet again registered record-high coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours. Health authorities in Nepal recorded 7,448 new coronavirus cases in the highest single-day spike and 37 fatalities.

The death toll caused by the pandemic has reached 3,362 while there are 54,041 active cases in the country, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

Covid-19 hotspot Kathmandu Valley recorded 3,666 cases—Bhaktapur registered 222 cases, Lalitpur 522, and Kathmandu 2,922 cases.

There are 212 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

Likewise, 2,021 people recovered in the last 24 hours, taking total recoveries to 286,015.
