Nepal reports yet another record daily spike with 9,196 Covid-19 cases; over 42,000 cases recorded in five days

Kathmandu: The country has recorded an additional 9,196 new Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours in yet another record daily spike, taking the caseload to a total of 377,603.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 9,023 were diagnosed with the virus in PCR tests while 173 were confirmed positive in the test undertaken through the antigen method.

A total of 50 people died from the virus in the past 24 hours. So far, the death toll from the infection has hit 3,579, according to the Ministry.

In the last five days, Nepal recorded 42,023 coronavirus cases.


The number of active infection cases is 78,629 across the country.

Similarly, 380 are at the quarantine facility.

There has been a steady increase in cases in the past few weeks. In five days, Nepal recorded 42,023 coronavirus cases.

Health authorities in Nepal recorded 7,448 new coronavirus cases in the highest single-day spike and 37 fatalities. Covid-19 hotspot Kathmandu Valley recorded 3,666 cases—Bhaktapur registered 222 cases, Lalitpur 522, and Kathmandu 2,922 cases.

The country recorded 7,660 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours in the highest single-day spike. Out of new cases, a total of 3,893 were from the Kathmandu Valley alone. Of them, altogether 2,779 were in Kathmandu district, 513 in Bhaktapur, and 601 in Lalitpur.

Nepal registered 8,659 cases of Covid-19 in yet another highest single-day spike as second wave infections rage across the country. Out of new cases, a total of 3,825 were from the Kathmandu Valley alone. Of them, altogether 2,849 were in Kathmandu district, 458 in Bhaktapur, and 518 in Lalitpur.

Nepal on Thursday recorded 9,070 fresh coronavirus cases in yet another highest single-day spike. Likewise, the Kathmandu Valley has recorded 3,972 coronavirus infection-related cases.
