Kathmandu: Nepal Liquors Private Limited, the manufacturers of Antiquity and Signature Premier whiskey has recently launched MrDowell’s Luxury Number One in the market. According to the company, it is the best product in its segment and is the finest at the price range. “We have a lot of expectations from this product, and we have also received very good feedback. This will be successful like all our other products,” says Kamal Prasad Sitaula, Corporate General Manager at Nepal Liquors.

Nepal Liquors Private Limited (formerly known as United Spirits Nepal Private Limited) is a franchise unit of Diageo PLC. Established in 1982 BS, it is one of the leading liquor manufacturing companies in Nepal. The company bottles and markets the leading spirit brands in Nepal such as Antiquity Blue, Signature Premiere Whisky, Signature Rare Whisky, Mc Dowell’s No. 1 Whisky, Blue Riband Gin, and Royal Challenge Whisky among other products. Nepal Liquors operates through its eight Regional Distributors and around seventy-five Sub-distributor’s all over Nepal for the distribution of its products.

The company’s Bottling unit is in Biratnagar, and it has provided employment to more than a hundred. The company also is one of the highest taxpayers in province number 1. This company has its registered office and corporate office in Kathmandu.

The company came into being after Raj Bir Singh Tuladharacquired United Liquors and turned it into Nepal liquors Private Limited. According toSitaula, it was the first time in Nepal when a multi-national company was purchased by a Nepali company. “Our Executive Chairman Raj Bir Singh Tuladhar acquired the then United Liquors, and formed this company which is now known as Nepal Liquors,” says Sitaula.

According to the company, Signature is the number one in whiskey segment in Nepal, it has two variants, Real and Premier, and both are equally popular in the market. Antiquity is another most popular whiskeys in Nepal in the premium segment and is the finest product of the company. McDowell’s is the oldest brand of the company, and it is almost synonymous with whiskey in the Nepali market. Its other product BlueRiband Gin is another best-selling product in its category, and so is Royal Challenge whiskey.

Mr Dowell’s Luxury Number One is the latest offering from the company, and it is gaining a lot of popularity. “It was launched two months ago, and is available in markets all over Nepal now. It is the best product in its segment at the price that we are offering,” says Sitaula. According to Situala, the total of the company sales is growing, and the trend is growing too. “We are back in our original form, and we have recovered from the loss caused by the lockdown last year,” him.

The company is also known for its corporate social responsibility, and focuses mostly on education and sports. The company has sponsored numerous sporting events, sponsored education for sports and has supported beauty pageants as well. The company has recently appointed TV presenter Suraj Singh Thakuri as the brand Ambassador for its new product MrDowell’s.

The company has numerous world-class brands and products under its portfolio, and it aims to further expand the catalog. “We are present all over Nepal. In the future, we will be bringing best and world-class liquor brands to Nepal, and will further spread our presence,” says Sitaula.
