Teku Hospital halts PCR tests due to lack of kits

Kathmandu: Sukraraj Tropical and Infectious Diseases Hospital (Teku Hospital) has stopped PCR tests for Covid-19 after the hospital ran out of test kits.

Dr. Sagar Rajbhandari, Director of the hospital, said that the test was stopped for a few days as necessary materials could not be brought due to prohibitory order in place.

Director Rajbhandari said that the test will be resumed after the necessary kits arrive.

The hospital had been conducting PCR tests of over 500 people daily.
