Nepal witnesses 8,607 fresh cases and 177 deaths in last 24 hours; death toll crosses 6,000-mark

Kathmandu: The country has recorded an additional 8,607 new Covid-19 cases, taking the caseload to a total of 497,052. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, samples of 22,353 people were tested through the PCR method while 873 samples were tested adopting the antigen method.

A total of 177 people died from the virus in the last 24 hours. So far, the death toll from the infection has hit 6,024, according to the Ministry.

Meanwhile, 7,890 recovered in the past 24 hours and the country has 116,192 active cases. The recovery rate stands at 75.4 percent.
