Kathmandu: Legal practitioners have moved the Supreme Court (SC) with a writ petition demanding action against Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli for contempt of court.

They have argued that the Prime Minister should be punished for contempt of court as he dissolved the House of Representatives going against the court’s verdict delivered on February 23.

Senior advocate Dinesh Tripathi said that a writ petition has been presented before the apex court demanding to summon the Prime Minister before the court within 24 hours and one-year imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10,000 for contempt of court.
