President Bidya Devi Bhandari requests the US government to help Nepal with Covid vaccine

Kathmandu: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has written a letter to American president Joe Biden requesting the US government to help Nepal with the Covid vaccine.

Nepal’s Ambassador to the US Dr Yubaraj Khatiwada handed over the president’s letter to the State Department’s Senior Advisor Ervin Massinga on Friday.  

While handing over the letter, Ambassador Khatiwada briefed about Nepal’s latest condition and the vaccine plans. He mentioned Nepal had expected to receive the AstraZeneca vaccine from the US government in a maximum quantity. Recalling the long bilateral relations between the two nations, he said Nepal had expected significant aid from the US to battle against the coronavirus.

Moreover, Ambassador Khatiwada informed that the Nepal government is planning to buy Johnson and Johnson’s Covid-19 vaccine.
