Covid-19: Nepal witnesses 114 fatalities and 4,762 cases; 6,491 recover

Kathmandu: The country has recorded an additional 4,762 new Covid-19 cases, taking the caseload to a total of 561,302.

A total of 114 people died from the virus in the last 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Population. The death toll has reached 7,386 with new fatalities.

Cases have gone down with fewer tests carried out in the last few days. Nepal had recorded 4,487 cases with 14,752 tests performed on Saturday. Likewise, the country witnessed 4,369 cases with 12,770 tests done on Sunday. Earlier on Friday had recorded 6,951 cases with 20,110 cases performed.

Samples of 15,055 people were tested through the PCR method while 2,425 samples were tested adopting the antigen method in the last 24 hours.

Major parts of the country including the federal capital Kathmandu are under prohibitory order to curb the spread of the virus. There are 14,795 active cases in Kathmandu, 6,391 in Lalitpur, and 4,409 in Bhaktapur.

Meanwhile, 6,491 recovered in the past 24 hours and the country has 106,470 active cases. The recovery rate stands at 79.7 percent.

Nepal recorded 855 Covid-19 fatalities in seven days.

Nepal recorded 8,636 fresh coronavirus and 169 deaths in the last 24 hours. Likewise, 169 people had lost their lives to coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours.

May 26

The country witnessed a total of 6,714 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. Likewise, 145 died of the virus.

May 27

The country logged 6,939 new Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours. Likewise, 106 Covid-19 patients died due to the deadly infection in the last 24 hours taking the Covid-19 death toll to 6,951.

A total of 6,951 new cases of Covid-19 reported in the past 24 hours in the country. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, during the period a total of 96 people died of Covid-19.

May 29

Nepal recorded 4,487 new cases of coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours. Likewise, 116 people succumbed to the pandemic.

May 30

Nepal witnessed 4,369 new cases of coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours as 109 people succumbed to Covid-19.
