Kathmandu: Nepali Congress (NC) candidate Driga Narayan Pandey has been elected National Assembly member from Lumbini Province in by-elections held on Monday.

Pandey received 4,140 vote weightage as his nearest contender Chandra Bahadur Khadka of UML got 3,612 votes. Pandey was also supported by CPN (Maoist Center), Janata Samajbadi Party and Rastriya Janamorcha.
