Kathmandu: President Bidya Bhandari has continued diplomatic efforts to secure Covid-19 vaccines to Nepal.
President Bhandari has written a letter to Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom requesting to provide vaccines for Nepal, according to Nepali Embassy in London. The Embassy in a statement said that the letter has been forwarded through UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office.
Earlier, Bhandari has also written letters to American President Joe Biden, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and her Indian counterpart Ram Nath Kovind requesting vaccine support.
She also held a telephone conversation with Chinese President Xi Jinping. During the conversation, Chinese President Xi had announced providing additional one million doses of the Covid-19 vaccine to Nepal as grant assistance.
