In pics: China-donated 850,400 Covid-19 vaccines arrive in Nepal

Kathmandu: A chartered flight of Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) landed on Tuesday carrying a consignment of 850,400 Covid-19 vaccines provided by China to Nepal as grant assistance.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the vaccines and syringes have been received by the officials of the Ministry of Health and Population at the Tribhuvan International Airport.

The remaining 200,000 doses of the vaccine are being provided to Nepal by the Tibet government.

Accordingly, 50,400 doses of the vaccine and syringes have been handed over to the officials of the Ministry of Health and Population this morning, and another batch of 50,400 vaccines and syringes is scheduled to arrive in Kathmandu this evening.

The consignment of the remaining 99,200 vaccines and syringes will arrive in Kathmandu tomorrow.

During a telephone conversation with President Bidya Devi Bhandari, Chinese President Xi Jinping had announced providing additional one million doses of the Covid-19 vaccine to Nepal as grant assistance. Earlier, the Chinese government had provided 800,000 Covid-19 jabs to Nepal.
