The Ministry of Health and Population has refuted several media reports that Denmark is sending over a million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine to Nepal under grant assistance.

“There have been talks with several European countries to bring Covid-19 vaccines to Nepal. However, the Health Ministry has not received any formal letter or confirmation that Denmark is sending vaccines to Nepal,” said Dr Tara Pokharel, director at the Family Welfare Division of the Health Ministry.

“We can only confirm the news once the Health Ministry gets official confirmation,” he added.

Earlier, several media reported that the Danish government is sending 1.4 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccines to Nepal under grant assistance.

{*Correction: Earlier, Nepal Live Today also reported that Denmark was sending over a million doses of vaccines to Nepal under grant assistance. The MoHP later confirmed to NL Today that there has been no official confirmation from Denmark. We regret the error.}
