The National Examinations Board (NEB) has initiated the necessary preparation to conduct the final examination of grade 12. The Board has requested permission from the government to hold the exams from August second week.

As the possibility of the online examination appears slim due to a large number of examinees, the Board has planned to conduct physical examinations. The Board will carry on the examination process as soon as the government permits, said Chandra Mani Poudel, chairman of NEB.

NEB has sought to conduct the physical examinations even if it takes more time to be prepared.

The Education Ministry has said that it will take a decision only after an analysis of the Covid situation.

According to the Ministry, decisions regarding the examination will be taken by Covid-19 Crisis Management Center (CCMC). Earlier, CCMC had halted the grade 12 examination set to start from June 9.
