Taskforce formed to study damage to roads, bridges by floods and landslides

Kathmandu: The Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport has formed a taskforce to study the damage on roads and bridges caused by the flood and landslide. The seven-member taskforce is headed by Chief of the Bridge Division, Department of Roads, Deepak Shrestha.

The taskforce is tasked with presenting its recommendations and study report by July 22. The taskforce has been asked to assess the damage caused by floods and landslides triggered by incessant rains on bridges under construction and those already completed.

The taskforce has been urged to present a report on the ways to minimize the damage to structures and on the precautionary measures to be taken in the coming days, according to the Ministry.
