Kathmandu: Attorney General Ramesh Badal has resigned from his post.

The government’s chief legal advisor submitted his resignation to the President today, through the Prime Minister, as a new government is to be formed after the Supreme Court’s verdict.

“I have resigned from my post. I have handed the resignation to the Prime Minister,” Badal told RSS.

He was appointed to the post on March 21, 2021, and remained in office for three months and 21 days.

The Supreme Court on Monday issued a mandamus to appoint the leader of the opposition alliance and Nepali Congress president Sher Bahadur Deuba to the post of Prime Minister within two days.
